St. Johnsbury Academy Campus

St. Johnsbury Academy was founded in 1842 by Erastus, Thaddeus, and Joseph Fairbanks to provide "intellectual, moral, and religious training for their own children and the children of the community." The school was reincorporated in 1873 in order to accomplish the founders' goal of providing exemplary educational opportunities to a wider range for students, not just those destined for the liberal arts colleges and universities.

Today St. Johnsbury Academy remains unique among American independent schools in its ability to offer its students a truly comprehensive curriculum. This breadth of curriculum, supported by first rate facilities and the resources to attract an outstanding faculty, has attracted national recognition as well as over 230 boarding students from across the United States and around the world.

Lyndon Institute Campus

Lyndon Institute is made up of three campuses: Darling, Harris, and Vail. The buildings, laboratories, workshops, and athletic venues of these campuses represent the blending of academic and practical learning and the school and extracurricular activities that characterize LI life.

Darling Campus is the heart of the school. The Main Building and its two wings house classrooms and laboratories for science, history, language, culinary, music, and theater, plus the Library and Media Center, Alumni Gymnasium, 650 seat Alumni Auditorium, a performing arts space, the Dining Hall, and LI's adminstrative offices. In front of "Main" are LI's football and track &field complex and the Town House, where LI's dance program and small performance space are located.
